The Drawing Room Opera Company (DROC) is Ireland’s first full-time professional concert opera company, performing nationally and internationally for private, corporate and public audiences in Ireland, the UK and abroad.

Founded in 1997 DROC has been captivating people for over 14 years and successfully building new audiences, many of whom have never had an opportunity to experience live opera.

The first DROC event was put on during a time of a young emerging economy. Demand increased as people began to realize that opera was not an elite and stuffy art form, but instead, highly entertaining, irreverent, engaging and sublime.  Not only that, audiences were delighted to find that they recognized more of the tunes than they thought they would, and were charmed to hear the real thing up close.

The Drawing Room Opera Company has travelled to the UK, Europe and even to Barbados and is now one of the top concert opera companies. DROC has a very impressive array of clients and has continued to be supported by companies who know that quality and satisfaction is important when setting a budget to entertain new and existing customers.

Performances range from small intimate settings to larger scale conference events. They can consist of one to five singers and a piano accompanist. The singers   and musicians are all highly experienced performers well versed in the art of entertainment. They perform classic opera anthems and songs from the shows in a relaxed, interactive and humorous way which leaves the audience feeling that they’ve had more than just a night out…they’ve been part of an experience.

International conference operators are using the company on an ever increasing scale not only because of DROC’s ability to entertain but also because the singers can present songs in several different languages (French, Italian, German) giving an extra finesse when performing to an international audience.
