Accommodation in Bunratty -Headley Court Bed & Breakfast

Headley Court B&B is based in the historical village of Bunratty in Co. Clare. Bunratty Folk Village is located near by, featuring the famous Bunratty Castle, which is renowned for its traditional music. Indeed, Bunratty Folk park with its representation of a traditional Irish village in the 1890′s is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Ireland.

County Clare’s most visited attraction is also nearby- The Burren, a karst limestone landscape, a desolate beauty that features many rare orchids and artic flowers. where pre-historic monuments dot the landscape. It is not all just beautiful scenery and heritage that Hedley Court have at hand. Next door the Bunratty Cookery School offers courses from Oriental cooking to Indian, hosted by Donnagh Gregson, a Michelin Star chef. Headley B&B is an ideal location to base oneself at during a course.

For me, the Irish Bed and Breakfast experience is all about the attitude of the owner, do they go that extra mile, to make you feel welcome. Kathleen is described as the “perfect hostess” and having “restored faith in B&B’s”. Lovely and well deserved praise.

Bunratty is a very convenient base for travellers to Shannon Airport. It is located just south of the airport and at within a short drive of Limerick City. It is a good location to recharge and recover from a flight before heading for the Ring of Kerry or Killarney.

If you are looking for a place to eat in Bunratty, it would be worth having a look at Gallaghers of Bunratty, one of Clare’s best Seafood restaurants and a personal favourite of mine. I especially like the Chargrilled Swordfish Steak.
